Went to the Uros Islands on Lake Titicaca. These are floating islands made from many layers of totora reeds, which are constantly replenished from the top as they rot from the bottom. The Uros people also make their boats and houses from totora reeds. Walking on these islands felt a little weird...We had to be careful walking on the islands as the surface was soft, unsteady underfoot and springy. Imagine walking on big stacks of stalks of giant asparagus!!!!
