I grew up in a kampong village where there were millions of blood sucking mosquitoes. I thought I should be immune to mossie bites by now! Since young, my skin reacts very badly to any insect bites. Even a tiny mossie bite will take weeks to heal and it's common for the bites to get infected. People (I wonder who they are) used to tell my Ah ma that my blood is "dirty" so I need to eat some exotic reptiles to 'cleanse' my blood so that my skin condition would improve and I would not be so affect by bites. Believing those people, Ah ma fed me snake (yes yes...I ate snake) and monitor lizards when I was young, hoping that I will no longer suffer when mossies bite me. I guess I can tell those people that it did not work for me!!!
I did a count today and I have 17 mossies bites visible on my legs and arms (one on my forehead!). This is not including those that have just healed. The bites still itch badly, I still scratch them like crazy (losing sleep at night too), my skin is still reacting fairly badly to them, they still take weeks to heal. Conclusion...I still have "dirty" blood!? Linda
